Zika virus infection is caused by a mosquito borne flavivirus. The suspected links of Zika virus (ZIKV) with neurological disorders, as well as neonatal malformations, is a major global health concern. In February 2016, the WHO was compelled to declare ZIKV Infection as an International Public Health Emergency.
